Kokie Dinnan has been named Program Director for Family Promise of SPBC. She begins her new assignment on August 20th.

Ms. Dinnan graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Masters in Social Work, being accepted in the Advanced Standing Program. During her education, Ms. Dinnan counseled students at Florida Atlantic University and with patients and their families in the Oncology Unit at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach.

Ms. Dinnan comes to Family Promise of SPBC with extensive experience. She has over eight years as a Program Director for Children and Family Ministries for two parishes within the Episcopal Diocese of South East Florida, and worked in elementary education within the Palm Beach County School System for twelve years. We wish to welcome Ms. Dinnan to Family Promise of SPBC.

During her first week, Kokie will meet with the clergy from the Host and Supporting Congregations to familiarize herself with her most important advocates of the Family Promise mission in our county. It is expected that there will be clergy representatives from all thirteen participating congregations at this meeting.

Kokie will be spend her first week in training, with the Terry Lindeman a National Trainer. Terry, an accomplished program director from a mature chapter of Family Promise in Las Vegas, will get Kokie ”up to speed” on basic operations and her role in our new network.

The evening of August 25th, Kokie will host a dinner for the congregation volunteer coordinators. The time and place is TBD. The coordinators are central to the operation of the mission. Their primary role is to do the planning and coordinating of the guest stays in their congregation’s facilities. They will coordinate all volunteers, activities, and accommodations while the guests are at their site.

We invite you to watch a Podcast interview with Kokie to learn more about her background and her thoughts about the Family Promise mission. The Podcast will be presented commencing Sunday, August 31st at 12:00PM EST.
